“They say you’re supposed to spend a third of your life sleeping. My friends and I have instead spent a good deal of that time at Bobos.

My theory is that they have a resident hypnotist there. How else can I explain the countless times we found ourselves closing out our night at Bobos? It’s as if magical fairies and elves have enchanted our cars to automatically drive us to Bobos when the clock strikes midnight.

On occasion, I have to admit that I don’t even know how I got there, as if they whisked me away in my dreams with whispered promises of vodka and Scotch. Or maybe it’s because I like singing Lady Gaga songs when I get drunk. You tell me.

Now as for actual recommendations, they have this sliced beef sashimi dish, and it’s the best damn thing I’ve ever seen offered at a karaoke. The only way I’d consider something better is if the food were served by the ladies of Maxim’s Hometown Hotties contest. Also, if you’re gonna sing, you’re gonna need drinks so you might as well get the bottle specials. Or if you don’t sing, but your drunken friends do, then you’ll probably need two bottle specials for yourself.

It ain’t cheap to party at Bobos, but it is a gateway to some great times.”

“WOW…Bobo’s is an absolute top notch Noraebang…

It may be located on the third floor of a brand new, but absolutely desolate mall with barely any open businesses…but enter its doors, and you become part of the glitzy surreal world of upscale song box karaoke.

For those who haven’t been, it should be known that this place is VERY (and I mean VERY) Korean. Pretty much all the staff and all the patrons are Korean, and speak Korean. The website doesn’t even give an option for English, and even the buttons on the remote control for Karaoke are in Korean. I would advise coming with at least one person who speaks Korean.

The rooms are flashy and very mod…but somehow don’t seem gawdy…it’s just fun. The booths have large tables with wrap around booths, and the microphones have long cords so you don’t even have to get up to sing if you don’t want to. There are two flat screens, one for the singer and one for the audience. The sound system, video, and controls are excellent… absolute state of the art.

The room itself is pretty reasonably priced… I think ours was about $40 per hour for a room that seated 8 to 10.

If you go for bottle service, prepare to pay bottle service prices…though far less than a bottle would cost at a fancy club (and in my opinion this is far more fun). Overall we dropped a little less than $300 bucks (which included a bottle of Grey Goose a plate of fruit and about 2 hours of Karaoke for 8 people). If you are looking to not spend upwards of $35 per person, I’d advise sticking with soju and beer which are also available.

I will certainly be going back to Bobos.”
