
10 years ago on August 25th, R&B singer Aaliyah died in a plane crash in the Bahamas–she was only 22. Aaliyah released her first studio album, Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number, in 1994 when she was only 15. Her career as an artist/singer was well received and all three of her albums would go double platinum. She had also begun acting, most notably in 2000′s Romeo Must Die alongside Jet Li.
After filming the music video for her single “Rock The Boat,” Aaliyah and eight other passengers died in the tragic plane crash. Despite her young age, Aaliyah already had an immensely successful career as an artist, and would have undoubtedly continued to surprise fans with her talent.
